Tax Automation appoints new director
Tax Automation is delighted to announce the appointment of Donald Drysdale as its new
non-executive director and Chairman.
Donald, a Scottish Chartered Accountant, spent 16 years as a tax partner at KPMG with a
demanding client portfolio and senior management responsibilities. As the firm’s UK Tax
Technology Partner he chaired its Tax Technology Committee and played leading roles in
both UK and international technology strategy groups. He left KPMG to head National Tax
Systems at Coopers & Lybrand, managing complex IT projects, leading a team of tax and IT
specialists developing and supporting tax systems and software throughout the UK firm,
while also representing the UK on the technology arm of the firm’s International Tax
Committee.
After the merger with Price Waterhouse, Donald directed UK Tax Technology within PwC's
Global Tax Technology group and also held relationship management responsibility for Europe,
the Middle East and Africa.
Donald is continuing as Assistant Director of Tax at The Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Scotland, where he is involved in consultations with HMRC on tax e-services, OECD
discussions on tax e-audit processes, the debate surrounding XBRL, and other IT developments
of relevance to tax. Donald was recently admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Taxation and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners for his work
as a freelance tax author.
"We are delighted to welcome Donald Drysdale to the Board of Tax Automation", said Bryony
Clinton, Commercial Director. “Donald brings a wealth of experience and commitment with
him. As our client base increases and our projects take on a more global profile, his
experience and guidance will be invaluable in moving the business forward."
